Hesse St Queenscliff

Join us for dinner centred around Richards’ fascinating insight into a year as a vegetarian. My Year Without Meat is a surprising and bittersweet journey that changed Richard’s body, his values and how he cooks. It’s a meditation on ethical meat, an ode to vegetables and a cautionary tale about our relationship to food—as told by a self-confessed meat lover. Funny anecdotes,eye-opening facts and conversations with some of Australia’s best local producers, farmers and top chefs, My Year Without Meat thoughtfully explores how and why Australians consume food the way we do.

So many people on the Bellarine for easter. Lots of families and fiends, newcomers, and veterans. the “little emporium” has had soo many lovely visitors! Andy Griffiths still the biggest with the children, and yet another book, “The Treehouse Fun Book”. “A Little Life” for the brave adults..a challenging, memorable, life changing read. Not to mention the life affirming Penguin Bloom.

And lastly, on the music scene,a wonderful introduction to a new (to us) Blues singer Rhiannon Giddings, a star at the recent Blues Fest in Melbourne and the Corner Hotel. Next stop Byron Bay Blues Fest. A definite for our CD collection for you.
